She Rocks!

After attending three of Danielia's concerts and chatting with her each time, I feel like an old friend (or aunt at least). You can definitely call me a fan. Danielia thrives on defying stereotypes so we share something especially significant in common. Listening to her reminds me of growing up in the 70's. She makes me feel so young again...or perhaps reinforces that in some areas we never really grow up, nor should we need or want to. I'll be looking forward to RARE CHILD.

The Long Road from Aporia

comp_3d.jpg

Back in the mid 80's I was fascinated by ProDos and the first publishing software. When I got my first IBM PS2 I nearly lost my mind. It cost over 5K and took me eight weeks to get it. It was a great conversation piece and all my friends came over to see the marvel. I watched the sunrise many days executing DOS commands  and editing autoexec.bat and config.sys files. With the PS2  came my first modem along with Prodigy & Compuserve. I had to have both,of course; funding this luxury by doing business research and creating newspaper ads for friend's businesses.

Jeffery, I remember...

Downloading applications was an expensive hobby and often exceeded 500. per month since the transfer rate was incredibly slow and one was charged by connection time and size of download. The day I downloaded Aporia for the first time, the computer came alive. This was the very drag and drop interface available to communicate with the system though image icons. I was mesmerized.

I really had to dig to find a reference to this magical OS For what it's worth, Jeffrey Greenberg, I remember.  You and I can truly appreciate just how far we have come, but yes, you were there first.

Welcome to my Garden!

After much forethought & encouragement, I have finally decided to blog. With careful nurturing and lots of TLC, I trust my little word garden will organically bloom into something pleasant and worthwhile. I appreciate your stopping by and hope you will enjoy strolling through my garden of thoughts. ~Rosemarie
